The author gives as his opinion, that the impoverishment of the flora of Utrecht, discussed by J. TH. DE SMIDT in an introduction to a reprint of GEVERS DEYNOOT, Flora van Utrecht (1843), is indeed very considerable, but should nevertheless not be exaggerated.
