On the salt-marsh “De Mok” (Texel) Bangia atropurpurea (Roth) C. Ag. was found epiphytic, together with other algae including two Ulothrix species, on upright dead Salicornia-stems. This is an indication of the ecological relationship between the epilithic association Bangieto-Urosporetum and the ‘vernal Ulothrix sociation’ of the salt-marsh habitat.
