The parasitic fungus Plasmodiophora maritima G. Feldmann has recently been found in the Slufter salt marsh on the island of Texel; previously it had been recorded from the Balgzand salt marsh near Den Helder. The species causes conspicuous deformations of its host Triglochin maritima L.
