According to JALAS (1972, p. 181) the name of Thymus humifusus Bernh. ex Reichenb. has to be T. praecox Opiz. Next to the subsp. praecox the author mentions T. praecox subsp. arcticus (E. Durand) Jalas for the Netherlands as an alien and a supposed garden escape.
