Ribespetraeum, a native of Western Asia and the mountains of Southern and Central Europe, was recorded in the Netherlands near Losser (province of Overijssel), near the German border. Its habitat was a wet depression in a woodland strip along a brooklet. The author argues that R. petraeum was most probably introduced by a bird, which had eaten the berries of a cultivated scrub. Sofar only one specimen has been found.
