Physcia stellaris (L.) Ach. in Nederland

Since 1980, the lichen Physcia stellaris (L.) Ach. has been found in the Netherlands on 26 sites, which are nearly all strongly eutrophicated. Herbarium collections indicate that the species formerly appeared in a rather different habitat. Because of the continuing eutrophication of tree bark by ammonia, many new records of Physcia stellaris are to be expected.
