Last summer the Sussex Yellow-sorrel ( Oxalis dillenii) has been recorded in the Netherlands for the first time. This American species might have been overlooked by Dutch botanists, as it has been recorded for the last several decades in most other European countries. In the Netherlands the species occurs on sandy riverbanks in annual vegetation. The characters of Oxalis dillenii and two related annual species of Oxalis (O. fontana and O. corniculata) are described.
