Wachtkamer- en standaardlijstsoorten 2003

As a precursor for the forthcoming edition of ‘Heukels’ Flora van Nederland’, a critical survey of species that show a recent increase in occurrence in the Netherlands is presented here. Apart from 49 species which now fully meet the criteria for inclusion in the Standard List (categories e, f, and g), a much longer list of so called ‘Waiting Room Species’ is given here. ‘Waiting Room Species’ are species that are in the process of naturalization in the Netherlands. Many of them are ornamental species, which are naturalizing in urban areas.
