Salicornia pusilla Woods (Eenbloemige zeekraal) na 25 jaar weer aangetroffen in Nederland

Terschelling. Het areaal van deze soort is beperkt tot Noordwest-Europa (Ierland, Groot-Brittanië, Nederland, België en Noordwest-Frankrijk). In dit artikel worden eerdere vondsten van deze soort kort gememoreerd. De verschillen met de twee andere Nederlandse Zeekraal-soorten worden besproken, waarbij ook wordt ingegaan op de wijze waarop de zaden van S. pusilla worden verspreid. Op 25 september 2011 gemaakte vegetatieopnamen laten zien dat de begroeiing gerekend kan worden tot het Puccinellion maritimae en wel tot het Puccinellietum maritimae (opname 1 en 2), het Plantagini- Limonietum (opname 3 tot en met 6) en het Halimionetum portulacoides (opname 7). In Ierland, Engeland en Frankrijk wordt de soort in vegetaties met vergelijkbare soortensamenstellingen aangetroffen. Based upon occurrence records, the distribution of Salicornia pusilla Woods is restricted to Northwest Europe (Ireland, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Belgium, and northwestern France). For the past 25 years, however, there have been no new records from the Netherlands. In vegetation relevés conducted on September 25, 2011, S. pusilla was documented at several localities on the Boschplaat on the West Frisian Island of Terschelling, Province of Friesland. In this paper, the previous occurrences of S. pusilla are briefly reviewed and differences between S. pusilla and two additional Salicornia species in the Netherlands are discussed, including seed dispersal mechanisms. Based upon the relevé data, plant communities with S. pusilla occurrences belong to Puccinellion maritimae: Puccinellietum maritimae (relevés 1 and 2), Plantagini-Limonietum (relevés 3 to 6), and Halimionetum portulacoides (relevé 7). Across its entire distribution area, the species is confined to similar plant communities.
