Conidia of Aspergillus flavus and macroconidia of Fusarium solani f. cucurbite were incubated on water agar-disks above a sandy loam soil (pH 7.4) in closed petri dishes at 15 °C. Their germination and subsequent growth was retarded over a two day period when compared with those incubated above distilled water (D.W.).
