Net Rb+ transport by Rb+ loaded yeast cells and the electrokinetical formulism

It has been shown that Rb+ efflux from Rb+ loaded yeast cells is almost unaffected by the concentration of Rb+ in the medium, whereas the influx rate of Rb+ into the yeast cells increases largely on increasing the external Rb+ concentration. It is possible to describe the kinetics of Rb+ net transport by the electrokinetical formulism provided that a non linear diode like model is chosen in preference to a varistant one.
