Some aspects of the chemistry of Pinaceae needles

A brief survey is given of some main classes of phenolics found in the leaves of species of the pine family (Pinaceae), with emphasis on the flavonoids. Within the limited scope of present knwowledge chemical relationships of taxonomic importance are pointed out.
