A bit of the Tropics in the Netherlands. Coleosoma floridana, a Pantropical species, has been found in the Netherlands for the first time. The species occurred in large numbers in a hot-cell (28-30 °C, 80-85 relative humidity) of a Freesia Trading Company in Honselersdijk, Netherlands. Earlier tropical records are numerous. European records relate to tropical hothouses in Botanical Gardens such as Kew Gardens, Cambridge University Botanical Gardens and Turku University Botanical Gardens.
