In recent years a number of fenlands in the Netherlands were visited and the spider fauna of the shore vegetation was studied from a boat. Some preliminary results are presented here. Nine of the species commented on appear to be characteristic for this type of habitat; only Clubiona rosserae Locket was collected outside this strictly defined habitat by sweeping a reed-moss vegetation (it has also been found in the eastern part of the country). One species is recorded for the first time from the Netherlands (Entelecara omissa O.P.-Cambridge).
