A preliminary list of the spiders of the nature reserve Zwanenwater in the province Noord-Holland is presented. The spiders were collected during a general survey of the area in the period 1981-1992 by others. Not all traditional methods for spider collecting were used. The species list reflects the variety of habitats available in this lime-poor dune area, which is known for its two large dune lakes. Noord-Holland is a poorly investigated province, which explains the large number (25) of new province records.
