A female of Larinioides ixobolus (Thorell, 1873) has been collected in The Netherlands, east of Nijmegen (Province of Gelderland) near the German border. She had obviously lost her way, for she was sitting on the inside of a window in a house. The house is a former laundry in a moist habitat. This species is known from Central and Eastern Europe and from Asia and replaces there Larinioides sericatus (Clerck, 1757) in the same habitat. The specimen is described and compared with females of the closely related Larinioides sericatus (Clerck, 1757).
