The new Dutch Embassy in Berlin is striking by its large glass facades illuminated from the inside at night. The building appeared very attractive for araneoid spiders to build their webs on, possibly because of the rich supply of food. Insects are naturally attracted by light. The building reminded of an artistic creation by Christo. The owner of the building was less entousiastic and had the building cleaned and the light regime in the building adapted. He trusts to thus reach an acceptable balance between design and attracted fauna.
