Waarnemingen van Visarenden Pandion haliaetus op de Ventjagersplaat tijdens de najaarstrek

The Ventjagersplaat is an important stop-over site for Ospreys in late summer. It is a vast area of shallow fresh water and mudflats, situated in the Haringvliet in the southwestern Netherlands. Up to four Ospreys were present simultaneously from late July till early October (Table 1). Birds often perch on poles in the water, on dams or on pylons of power lines in the immediate vicinity. Fish, especially Bream Abramis brama, is numerous on the Ventjagersplaat.
