In the province of Noord-Brabant (southern Netherlands), as elsewhere in The Netherlands, the Common Buzzard shows a distinct increase during the last decade. It was investigated whether this numerical change coincided with a change in habitat choice, especially regarding tolerance to human settlements. Successful breeding attempts closest to human occupation were 250 m away from city boundaries (3x out of 128 successful nests). Breeding within city limits was not yet recorded.
