On 10 September 2000, a fledgling Hobby took a sunbath while sitting on the ground and waiting for the adults to arrive with food. By 11.00 hr the temperature had risen to c. 20°C. One of two fledglings spread its wings and tail, turning its back towards the sun. This posture was mostly performed while standing, occasionally also while lying flat on the ground. Sunning took some 15 minutes, interspersed with short periods of folding wings and tail.
