In 2000, two females occupied nestboxes 200 m apart, probably sharing the same male (only a single male was recorded). The first female initiated egg-laying on 1 April; 5 out of 6 eggs resulted in fledglings. The second female started on 26 April, raising 4 young out of 5 eggs. Although 2000 was not a vole year in The Netherlands, the situation at this particular site may have been different (not quantified).
