On 10 June 2001, a hovering adult male Kestrel suddenly dropped and captured one of the many passing Swifts which were feeding at low altitudes above a wetland in the northern Netherlands. Plucking took some 20 minutes, before the bird returned to the nestbox with its prey. This capture was considered a lucky try.
