Whereas some observers decide not to climb nesting trees of raptors, but still want to know clutch- and brood size, a device to check nest contents of raptor nests from the ground is described. It is based on the construction of a long pole -up to 18 m- made from smaller sections of aluminium poles fitted together (see sketch with specifications), on top of which a small camera is mounted (c. two matchboxes in size) on a flexible joint. The camera is connected by cable with a 13 cm wide screen, from which the nest content can be viewed while remaining on the ground.
