Buizerd Buteo buteo maakt sneeuwbal

In January 2001 a Common Buzzard was observed producing a small snowball by scraping sticky snow from a branch with its right foot. The bird had just fed from a Common Woodpigeon, and cleaned its bill by wiping it alternately against the selfmade snowball (see Photo). Normally, Common Buzzards use branches to clean the bill after feeding.
