While checking the beaches near Westkapelle, province of Zeeland, for oiled birds (presumably from the oil spill of the Tricolor) on 3 February 2003, a female Sparrowhawk was detected, plucking a Little Auk on the beach less than one metre from the sea shore. Based on the “whiteness,, of the bird, it is thought that the bird was not, or hardly, oiled.
