On 19 February 2003, a Sparrowhawk tried to catch goldfish in a small fishpond in a garden near a farm. By means of a sloppy way of hovering he lowered his tarsi into the water in an attempt to catch the fish at the bottom. After 30 minutes of trying, he still was not successful but thoroughly drenched. A plucked Sparrowhawk, presumably the same bird and fallen victim to the local Northern Goshawk Accipiter gentilis, was found a few days later.
