On 4 August 2002, a Eurasian Marsh Flarrier was seen hunting on foot along a ditch in a polder in the central Netherlands. During the 20-30 minutes’ walk , the bird covered some 75 metres. Prey capture was not witnessed but the bird occasionally disappeared from view in the tall vegetation.
