On 8 July 2007, the recently depredated adult male of a Honey-buzzard pair was found underneath the nest. The bird had a female-like head, but the dark bars on flight feathers, measurements and body mass indicated a male; freshly plucked rectrices of an adult female were found nearby. The nest contained a recently hatched chick (oldest chick had disappeared), which was relocated to another Honey-buzzard that contained an addled egg. This chick was successfully raised by its foster parents, and fledged on 23 August; it was last seen on 2 September. Since 2001,4 out 12 Honey-buzzard nests in this study area had been depredated by Goshawks.
