On 17 February 2008, it took an immature male Goshawk 45 minutes to subdue and kill a Carrion Crow. The crow was captured on thin ice on a pool, but whether the hawk had tried to drown its prey (an attempt that was thwarted anyway by the ice cover) is unknown. The Goshawk could be approached to within 20 m, and was photographed without using a hide.
