After having reached a peak in breeding numbers in the 1990s, Marsh Harriers in The Netherlands are now in decline. Although trends are well known for several regions, much less information is available on habitat choice, breeding performance and wintering. A concerted effort in 2010 will be attempted to improve our knowledge of distribution, abundance, breeding success and wintering.
