In November 2009 a Buzzard was surprised on its (apparent) kill of a Magpie in a small garden in the village of Joure in the northern Netherlands. The plethora of sheds, fences, walls and houses, some 400 m from the nearest meadows, may have facilitated a successful surprise attack in this (sub)urban environment.
