On 24 April 2009, an adult Steller’s Sea Eagle passed a migration watch site near Breskens, southwestern Netherlands, to the utter astonishment and delight of the birders manning this site. The bird stayed some days in the vicinity, before it was recaptured by its ‘owner’. Apparently, this bird was imported from Kazakhstan, which makes one wonder about the bird trade.
