From close quarters, a female Sparrowhawk was observed feeding on a Great Tit Parus major on 30 April 2011. When almost the entire prey was consumed, she took a leg with still some flesh attached to a nearby Norway spruce Picea abies, where she hid the prey remain between dense twigs at the end of a branch, using her feet and bill to cover up.
