Broedpogingen van Kluten Recurvirostra avosetta op de vloeivelden van Nieuw-Buinen

After a failed breeding attempt in 1992 (one bird sitting on empty nest), five pairs laid eggs in 1993 (four clutches of 4 eggs, one incomplete clutch of 1 egg). All nests failed, but causes of failure remained unknown. Breeding of Avocets in the province of Drenthe is irregular and confined to sewage farms.
