On 7,15,16 en 17 April 2006 groups of Bohemian Waxwings (8, c. 35,24 and 25 respectively) were observed in some tall black poplars. On 17 april the birds were recorded eating catkins of these trees. This species is known to profit from the successive flowering of trembling poplars whilst returning to the breeding grounds.
