A traumatotropic Response due to interrupted Water Transport

If an incision is made in one side of the base of Avena coleoptiles, a positive traumatotropic curvature appears. This curvature which commences to show about 20 minutes after wounding, is located above the wound. It is proven that this type of traumatotropic curvature is due to interrupted water uptake.
