The stomach contents of 38 heavily oiled Guillemots found on the beach on Walcheren (Delta area), 23-24 December 1991, were examined. Most birds were very fat, but five were slightly emaciated. The sample contained 30 SS (24 immatures with bursa Fabricii) and 8 $9 (3 immatures). Two stomachs were filled with only partly digested clupeoids (Sprat Sprattus sprattus and small Herring Clupea harengus, approximately 8-12 cm total length). Otherwise, a mixture was found with clupeoids predominating and occasional remains of sandeel Ammodytes spp. (3x), Scad Trachurus trachurus (3x), Bib or Poor Cod Trisopterus spp. (Ix) and a squid beak (table I).
