: How rare is the macropronotal form of Tetrix undulata? A female macropterous Common Ground-hopper ( Tetrix undulata) found on 20 May 1997 in Gelderland, turned out to be only the second record for the Netherlands. The factors responsible for the development of macropterous individuals of T. undulata are not known. Previously it has been hypothesized that extreme warm micro-habitats (responsible for a more rapid development) or extreme dry, and therefore unfavourable habitats for T. undulata, could influence the development of macropterous individuals positively. The fact that the new record originates from the relative warm Veluwe area, seems to support this hypothesis. However, more research and detailed records of this extremely rare form are needed to disentangle the factors responsible for the occurence of macropterous individuals of T. undulata.
