In research on fluctuations of butterfly populations, monitoring is of vitai importance. Two examples of monitoring research in Great Britain are described, Lasiommata megara In Rostherne Mere and Erynnis tages in Newborough Warren. A request is made to co-operate in the monitoring research in The Netherlands which is to commence in 1990.
