Observations were made of butterfly species on blossoming Ligustrum vulgare in southern France. The most numerous species seen sipping nectar, was Brenthis daphne. A striking feature was that Malanargia galathea, often seen in the close vicinity of L. vulgare, did not settle on the shrub.
