The Orange Tip (Anthocharis cardamines) is a well-studied species in the Netherlands. During recent years, regional projects have given an overall picture of the distribution and natural history of the butterfly. The Orange Tip Is chiefly seen along wood edges, hedgerows and adjoining fields. The butterfly does not occur in wide open spaces. Lady’s smock (Cardamine pratensis) and Garlic mustard (Alliaria petiolata) are its principal foodplants, although eggs Eire also laid on other flowering Crucifers.
