The endangered Ilex Hairstreak (Nordmannia ilicis) still has a fairly large colony existing in a nature reserve in the province of North Brabant, Along a monitoring route of oak scrubland, a total number of 127 butterflies were counted in 1996. A brief account of the observations is given, together with a description of the habitat and life cycle of the butterfly.
