The section held a study day on 24 January 2009 about the bee genus Hylaeus. The presentation was lead by Ivo Raemakers. He gave a short introduction about appearance, taxonomy, distribution and way of life. In preparation for identification, he discussed the most important characteristics. After that, members went on to identifying bees using a concept-version of a Hylaeus identification key made by Hans Nieuwenhuijsen.
