Mammal-data in the ’Annual Agricultural Reports’ 1861-1900. Data about distribution, crop damage and game management of serveral mammals (Wild Rabbit, Red Squirrel, small Mustelids, Wild Boar, Red Deer and Roe Deer) during the second half of the 19th century in the Netherlands are gathered and analysed from the Annual Agricultural Reports. The Dutch Game-act of 1857 protected the hunting-interests and the game-population. This led to a lot of damage in the agriculture and forestry, caused amongst others by Wild Rab- bit, Boar and Deer. The farmer-interests were disregarded by the Dutch Game-act of 1857. It took until 1923 before this situation was changed by the introduction of a new hunting-law. This new Game-act duely promoted the farmer-interests.
