Gomphaeschna furcillata (Say), a new state record for Texas (Anisoptera: Aeshnidae)

March 19, 1977, I collected 2 <J specimens of this species, a new state record. These were taken on a gravel road which crosses Big Creek in the Sam Houston National Park, San Jacinto Co., Texas. United States. Several more were seen patrolling a pond-like area of Big Creek, at about 09:00.
