Yoshitsugu Tarui

Born in Kyoto, June 16, 1931, our colleague, Y. Tarui, passed away in the same city on August 7, 1978. He was a science and biology teacher at various schools, including the Kyoto Youth Scientific Education Center, a Founder Member of the Kansai Research Group of Odonatology (Osaka), and member of numerous other professional societies, including the Society of Odonatology (Tokyo) and the Kyoto Konchu Dokokai. As a teacher he had the opportunity to transfer his enthusiasm for odonatology to many of his students; quite some members of the Tokyo odonatological society went through his "odonatological school" during their youth.
