ODONATA OF SPHAGNUM BOGS IN AUVERGNE (MASSIF CENTRAL, FRANCE), AND DISTRIBUTION OF THE MONTANE ODONATA IN FRANCE – 24 spp. are recorded from 8 sphagnum bogs, among which Lestes viridis is new for the Auvergne region. The occurrence of larval stages in various bogs is described, the phenology of the habitats is analysed, and the biogeographic composition of the local fauna is discussed and compared with that of other French sphagnum bogs. In addition, a review is provided of the current knowledge on French montane dragonflies.
