Additions to the knowledge of the odonate fauna of the Island of Corfu, Greece

The present note is based on 58 specimens, referable to 15 species, taken by the late Dr Wolter Hellen (W H) in 1965 (for his itinerary cf. W, HELLÉN 1966, Notul. ent. 46: 87-89), by Mr Manti Koponen (MK) in 1977, 1978 and 1981, by Mr Vesa Varis (VV) in 1978 and by Mr Matti Viitasaari (MV) in 1982. After the review by J. COWLEY (1940, Proc. R. ent. Soc. Land., B, 9: 172-178) and the subsequent additions by Er. SCHMIDT (1950, Ent. Z. Frankf. a. M. 60: 129-134), Aeshna affinis, Somatochlora flavomaculata, Crocothemis erythraea, and Sympetrum sanguineum are new, bringing the status of the odonate fauna of Corfu up to 23. S. flavomaculata has apparently not been listed earlier from Greece.
