On November 9, 1990, the grounds of the University of Bergen got a new work of art, "Wrecked Dragonfly” by Olav Orud. The sculpture, 4.5 m high, is red-coloured and made of pulverized bricks suspended in polyester plastic reinforced by fibre glass and steel. During the unveiling the artist said "the wreck of the Emperor Dragonfly warns against the arrogance of advanced technology; its supremacy has an end." Alas, Anax imperator is not yet a member of the Norwegian dragonfly fauna.
