Zwarte Wouw Milvus migrans broedde wederom in Noord-Brabant

After succesfully breeding in south-­eastern Noord-­Brabant in 2011, the same site was occupied again in 2012. A new nest was built in a poplar Populus sp., at a height of 15 m. The first observation was on 14 April, and nest-­building was observed on 27 April. The female was seen near the nest on 19 May, and a bird apparently breeding occupied the nest on 28 May and 5 June. However, the nest was found deserted after the last observations on 10 and 12 June. The cause of failure is not known.
